Demo CD recording - I can provide a demo CD recording in your own home and I can provide the service to the following areas: London, Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Hampshire and other areas of the UKA much less stressful
way of recording a demo CD or tape This page relates to demo CDs of about three or four
songs with piano accompaniment. If you have a more ambitious project that
I can help you with, email me here and tell me
what you have in mind. If you are interested in recording a number of
musicians or you would like to make an album, I would recommend going
to a commercial studio with a top quality piano (Steinway or the like)
and a good recording engineer. What follows is an easy and inexpensive
way of making a professional demo tape or CD for the purpose of finding
work etc. A recording studio can be a very frightening place especially if you
are constantly aware of the time factor and how much it is costing you
to make that demo cd. Imagine taking all this stress away and being able
to take the time to get things right. Imagine the studio being brought
to you in your own home. I bring all the recording equipment to you –
so you don't even have the stress of traveling. You
will need a demo tape or a demo cd if you are looking for work A more personal service There
is a better chance of achieving your desired result if you are dealing with
one person. When you are dealing with a team of people there is the chance
that they will gang up and railroad you into something that they think you
should have. A more personal service means a lot less intimidation and who
knows you may even end up enjoying the experience. My main objective when
I'm recording a singer is to get the very best from them and I try to make
recording sessions fun and as relaxed as possible. Making a demo CD need
not be a nightmare. A Lot Cheaper way to
make a cd
You
are only hiring me – not a team of musicians, technicians, recording engineers
etc. It has definitely got to work out a lot cheaper. A Quality Piano I
use a Yamaha P80 digital piano to record the keyboard track , this makes
it very easy to keep the piano track isolated from the vocal, in a sense
this has the same effect as putting the singer in a vocal booth. A lot of
singers would prefer to work with an acoustic piano, which is all very well,
but for the fact that most studios only have a digital piano. If they do
happen to have a 'real piano' it could easily be a bad one, and would stand
out like a sore thumb on any demo CD you make. You can hear some of my recordings here Below is selection of MP3s that I have recorded with various
singers. Just 'right clck' and 'save as to download as an MP3. Sheila Daniels sings "Cheek
to Cheek" Sheila Daniels sings "The
Nearness Of You" Phillip Browne sings "Ain't
Misbehavin'" Phillip Browne sings "When
I Fall In Love" David Edwards sings "There'll
Never Be Another You" David Edwards sings "The
Very Thought Of You" Also if you go to www.the-pianist.co.uk
you will find quite a few mp3's of me playing solo: these are only to give
you an idea of my pianistic ability and to give you an idea of my playing
style. I am really a jazz pianist but I am quite flexible and can do songs
from west end shows and even classical stuff. In a nutshell I have this to offer A
cheaper and often a better quality alternative to a commercial studio.
